Demands trade or release
OTWashington Redskins
Head
June 5, 2019
Williams (head) has demanded a trade or release from the Redskins due to the team's handling of his recent medical situation, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams is skipping mandatory minicamp for reasons that were initially believed to be contract-related. While that may have some influence on his absence, it's apparently not the main motivation. Instead, the seven-time Pro Bowler is disgruntled with how Washington's medical staff advised him after he developed a tumor on his head earlier in the offseason. While Williams is believed to be fine moving forward, it appears his relationship with the Redskins is beyond repair. This isn't ideal for the prospects of Derrius Guice and company.
