Notches 50 tackles as rookie
DTNew York Giants
January 11, 2018
Tomlinson made 50 tackles (30 solo), one sack and accounted for one pass defensed in 16 games during his rookie campaign in 2017.
The Giants' 2017 second-rounder made at least one tackle in all but one game for the team as a rookie. The defensive line was one of the lone bright spots for the Giants in 2017, as the unit also includes Jason Pierre-Paul, Damon Harrison and Olivier Vernon. Tomlinson has three years remaining on his contract with the Giants and he projects to once again start at defensive tackle alongside Harrison in 2018.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
Tomlinson will start at defensive end in the team's new 3-4 alignment alongside nose tackle Damon Harrison. Defensive ends in that alignment typically don't rack up fantasy stats, but Tomlinson is a good run stopper and should generate some tackles.
Selected in the second round of this year's draft, Tomlinson has a good chance to start right away, replacing the departed Johnathan Hankins at defensive tackle. Tomlinson is in a good spot, next to Damon Harrison and with Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon on the outside, but his role will mostly be to clog the run.
