DraftKings LoL: Wednesday/Thursday LPL Cheatsheet

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

GAMES (EDT)

  • Wednesday, 5:00 a.m: Team WE (WE) vs. eStar (ES)
  • Thursday, 5:00 a.m: Royal Never Give Up (RNG) vs. Edward Gaming (EDG)

WE vs. ES

This should be the bloodier of the two series, as both teams love to fight, especially compared to their LCK counterparts. WE qualified for the playoffs on Monday by beating OMG, while eStar enter as the fifth seed. While WE have a chance to pull this off, I think eStar prevail because they are one of the superior team fighting teams in the LPL and have only really struggled against teams with great objective control, which WE is only average at doing. WE's biggest issue is Teacherma's champion pool, though if he's allowed to play comfort picks he can shine. I think WEI can help get Cryin ahead in the mid lane, allowing them to roam the map and make plays on the bottom side. For eStar, Cryin and Wink are the carries with each right around 30 percent of the team's damage share, while everyone on the team except Xiaobai has over 70 percent kill participation. WE will need star jungler Beishang to get his laner's ahead, with Jiumeng being the main damage threat on the team and Teacherma being willing to sacrifice his own lane to get his bottom lane ahead. Like eStar, everyone on WE has over 70 percent kill participation except Morgan in the top lane. This should be a fun series with two explosive teams.

Prediction: ES 3-0

Prediction: ES 3-0

WE Players to Target: Morgan ($6,000), Beishang ($6,600), Jiumeng ($7,400), Missing ($5,000), WE Team ($4,600)

ES Players to Target: WEI ($7,200), Cryin ($7,800), Wink ($8,000), ShiauC ($5,800), ES Team ($5,200)

RNG vs. EDG

This is a matchup between two of the most prestigious LPL franchises as RNG take on EDG. A lot of this series comes down to who starts in the top lane and jungle for EDG, and I expect Jinoo and Jiejie will be back. RNG won the only meeting in the regular split, but that was with Aodi and JunJia in for EDG and the series went to three games. Jinoo is a legitimate stud in the top lane, and I really do think him playing makes a huge difference; if Jinoo and Jiejie are in, I give the edge to EDG, but if they are out, I give the edge to RNG. These teams are actually very similar, as they both have strong carries and versatile top laners with young junglers and vetaran presences at support. Both AD carries lead their team's in kill participation, with Hope leading EDG in damage and RNG's mid laner Xiaohu pacing RNG in the category. Pick a side here and stack them up with eStar.

Predicition: EDG 3-2

RNG Players to Target: XLB ($6,200), Xiaohu ($7,200), Betty ($7,400), Ming ($4,800), RNG Team ($4,800)

EDG Players to Target: Jinoo ($5,800), Scout ($7,400), Hope ($7,600), Meiko ($5,400), EDG Team ($5,000)
