Cloud9 vs. New England Whalers

We gave a four game-slate consisting of DreamHack Masters qualifiers, and we'll start with Cloud9 and New England Whalers. Cloud9 will be heavy favorites, and I would look to target the trio of oSee, floppy and motm. Sonic has shown some flashes of brilliance recently, but I would rather roster motm, who has outperformed Sonic in 2020. However, we have seen a bit of a downtrend in scoring for motm, and I would personally favor oSee and floppy if you have the salary.

New England Whalers have a few decent BO1 upsets on their resume, with wins against Bad News Bears and TeamOne, but they will have a tough time against a Cloud9 side that has looked solid. BOOBIE and PwnAlone are the two top guys on the team, but it is tough to warrant rostering them when there are better plays in the same price range. roca is another option at $5,200, but these guys should only be considered in GPPs because there is a big chance that Cloud9 sweeps this series with ease.

Cloud9 Players to Target: oSee ($8,800), floppy ($8,600), motm ($8,000)
New England Whalers Players to Target: PwnAlone ($6,600), BOOBIE ($7,400)

Bad News Bears vs. Triumph

Bad News Bears will be a considerable favorite against a Triumph side that lost their main AWPer, voltage, to Chaos a couple of months ago. dapr is coming in as the second-highest priced player on the slate at $9,000, but it is easy to understand why. Since joining the team, dapr has amassed a staggering 0.83 kills/round with a K/D ratio of 1.27, making him well worth paying up for. It is also worth noting that Bad News Bears have made a roster change recently, adding dazzLe in place of crashies. He has played alongside dapr before during their time with eUnited, so he will likely not have too many issues integrating with the team.

The guy I like the most on the side of Triumph is Grim, who has amassed a K/D ratio of 1.27 with 0.84 kills/round since joining the team back in March. Two other players to look out for on this team are curry and Junior, who will see this as an excellent opportunity to prove themselves. However, I would strongly recommend avoiding Triumph players in cash games, as eUnited will be heavy favorites.

Bad News Bears Players to Target: dapr ($9,000), mitch ($7,200)
Triumph Players to Target: Grim ($7,800)

Envy vs. Recon 5

This matchup between Envy and Recon 5 is an excellent one to start with when you're building a lineup for this slate. Calyx is a player who has won me a lot of money throughout the years, and he is coming in as the highest-priced player after carrying the team in FLASHPOINT. Most of the Envy players have received soft prices due to their struggles at FLASHPOINT, but they should have no issues dismantling Recon 5. I could see the likes of Calyx and MICHU having a field day here, and I would personally have a lot of exposure to them both in cash games and GPPs. You can also make a strong case for either Nifty or moose, depending on salary constraints, but Calyx and MICHU would be the ones I would primarily focus on.

Recon 5 have bolstered their lineup with the addition of the former Ghost player, neptune, and they will be looking to cause an upset against Envy. If you want to take a stab at that, both neptune and nosraC are decent options.

Envy Players to Target: Calyx ($9,200), MICHU ($6,600)
Recon5 Players to Target: neptune ($7,800), nosraC ($7,200)

Swole Patrol vs. Monstars

Swole Patrol against Monstars is another uneven matchup on paper, and there are a lot of solid options on Swole Patrol in the $7,000 range, including Cooper-, MarKE and food. I prefer greedy players in one-sided matches such as this one, and Zellsis is better suited against stronger teams.

The only guy I would really consider from Monstars is RIKO, who has amassed a K/D ratio of 1.06 with 0.72 kills/round for his team.

Swole Patrol Players to Target: Cooper- ($7,600), MarKE ($7,000), food ($7,400)
Monstars Players to Target: RIKO ($7,400)
