5x5 No Trades (OBP SB RBI R HR) (W Saves+Holds K ERA WHIP). FAAB $401. Waiver wire help for speed & saves + holds. Gordon went on the DL and my bullpen consists of just Parker & Giles. Here is best available for categories I need: SB: Deshields Kiemaier Tilson Biggio Peraza Best H: Smoak K Cron JD Davis Saves+Holds: Stammen LeClerc Oberg A Morgan S Kelley Best P: Chacin Players I could drop: F Pena Duffy Happ Mahle Turnbull Thoughts? How much % of FAAB would you spend & who to drop? Thanks! Brad
I would prioritize Oberg and Biggio, dropping Pena and Duffy. Keep an eye on Leclerc too as he’s pitching much better. I’d spend 5-7 percent on Oberg and 8-10 percent on Biggio. — Ryan Rufe
Standard 5×5 roto with Wins, ERA, K, Saves and Whip. Please rank for the rest of the season: Mike Soroka, Brad Peacock, Rich Hill, Jose Quintana and Zack Eflin. Thank you,
Hill Eflin Soroka Peacock Quintana Shawn
Hi, are you at the point where youd drop Miguel Cabrera to pick up Brian Goodwin? AL only 6x6 h2h roto league. I can slide Carlos Santana over to 1B. Also, is what Urshela is doing at all sustainable?
I would hold onto Miggy in AL only format. Funny enough, I was just thinking about Urshela and whether this could be sustained. I think with the regular opportunity he’s getting, he could hit .265 - .275 with 12-15 HR. I do not expect Urshela to hit over .300, but he could be serviceable for the next few weeks/months as long as the Yankees stars remain out of the lineup. — Ryan Rufe
im buying into an active AL only keepers leagues so i get to pick 4 expiring players contracts i chose Verlander for 18$, betts for 20$, roberto osuna for 10$ and mazara for 2$. its an 11 man league every other team gets to keep 8 players on there team so i was wondering the best strategy for the upcoming draft? i was very interested in drafting Bo Bichette for future years in the league he needs to play 1 game in the majors to be able to keep his contract for next year. do you think Bichette plays at least 1 game in the majors this year?
First off, kudos on your 4 keepers! With those players, you should definitely enter your auction with the intent to compete for your league championship this season. One question though... do you only get to keep 4 while everyone else keeps 8? Also, your auction budget....you have $50 already tied up with your 4 keepers. Assuming the standard $260 budget, that leaves you with $210 to play with, which is plenty. I’d look to draft a a couple more studs, assuming there are some remaining from the leftover pool of players (after keepers). Since you have so much money left, you can pretty much price enforce and buy the best remaining players (just don’t overbid if you don’t have to). As for Bichette, it’s tough to say if he will be up this season or not. Rotowire prospect analyst James Anderson seems to think he will make his debut at some point, probably as a September call up. I just wouldn’t spend a lot for his services as he won’t contribute much this year. — Ryan Rufe
I am looking for keeper guidance in an 18 team 15x15 roto league. We have 1 active SP, max 4 on the roster and an 80 start limit, 7 active RP and a DH slot that gets very thin. My roster is C W Contreras 1B J Abreu, C Bellinger 2B R Odor, J Villar, R Cano, L Urias, B Zobrist 3B K Seager SS A Bregman LF D Dahl CF AJ Pollock RF M Haniger, M Betts DH A Pujols SP J Paxton, J Taillon, J Flaherty, M Bumgarner, A Reyes RP D Robertson, W Smith, A Miller, J Chavez, D Castillo I need to keep 15 players, who would you recommend?
Without knowing your categories: Betts Bregman Bellinger Odor Dahl Pollock Paxton Taillon Flaherty Jose Abreu Alex Reyes D-Rob Haniger W Contreras -- especially if it's a 2-C lineup Biggest decision is probably Villar or Urias. If you want to compete this year and really try to hammer home a title, go Villar. If you want to plan for the future, go Urias. So you can't have more than 4 SP on your roster? That would make it easier for me to leave out Bumgarner -- especially since you note hitting gets thin. I just don't want to leave Paxton, Taillon, Flaherty, Reyes -- all young arms who have ace potential -- unprotected in a league this deep. Let someone else worry about Bumgarner rebounding. Hope that helps!
In a 20 team keeper league 6x6 w/OBP and holds xtra cats. We keep between 8-16 players w/$275 auction budget so players at auction usually way overbid. I hv ben offered Dozier $22 for A Meadows $5, I like Doz for big bounce back. Am I selling Meadows too low? What about Jake Bauer$5 should I offer him instead of Meadows? Also how would you rank R Osuna $16 D Robertson 19, Kev Herrera 15, Colome 15 and Strop 5? I feel Meadows and Bauers are both maybe at best platoon players at least forseeable future. Thanks for any insight
I think with that many keepers in that deep a league, Meadows is someone I'd want to try holding. The deeper the format, the less I care about positions and more about skills. I like Dozier to rebound as well, but at $22 and him turning 32 years old, that might be too high a bar to clear this year and beyond. Meadows at $5 -- I'd love to lock that in for as long as possible. I could see dealing Bauers, but again, think the other owner is trying to lock you in to an expensive deal. Osuna 16 Strop 5 D-Rob 19 Herrera 15 Colome 15 I think Strop can hang on to the Cubs' job even after Morrow comes back -- and who knows when that will be, given history. Strop's skills are phenomenal and definitely worth of him as a permanent closer. Even if you write him off for only the first month or two of closing, $5 is a great bargain. Hope that helps! -- Tim H.
Which closer would you drop? Allen,Minter or Greene
Hi there! Allen is still the top saves guy in CLE. Hand will steal some opportunities, but not enough to get too scared. Vizcaino is still out for at least another month, so not Minter. I don't expect Brach to affect him much. If you're forced to drop one, go with Greene. Detroit might eventually switch to Joe Jimenez or even just trade Greene via waiver deadline, so he's the best bet of these 3 to fall apart/lose his role. Good luck! - Tim Heaney
