Set for Sept. 26 fight
BantamweightUFC
August 1, 2020
Reneau will square off with Ketlen Vieira at the UFC event that is set to take place in Las Vegas on Sept. 26, Damon Martin and Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting report.
ANALYSIS
Reneau was originally supposed to enter the octagon with Vieira at UFC 250 back in May but the fight was called off due to traveling complications with the coronavirus pandemic. Reneau is just over a month removed from her third consecutive loss, the most recent one coming at the hands of Raquel Pennington via unanimous decision. At 43-years-old, Reneau appears to be declining and may not have much left in the tank. A win versus Vieira could present her with another fighting opportunity to fight; a fourth-straight loss, however, and her window with UFC could be coming to a close shortly.

Struggles continue in Vegas
BantamweightUFC
June 20, 2020
Reneau lost to Raquel Pennington via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The clock may have struck midnight for Reneau on what was her 43rd birthday. She struggled massively in the clinch in this fight against an opponent in Pennington who isn't known for her upper-body strength. Reneau made all sorts of technical mistakes throughout the course of the bout, which Dominick Cruz (on commentary for ESPN) correctly pointed out. Reneau has a stoppage victory on her resume over a former UFC champion in Jessica Andrade, in addition to a win over a former title challenger in Sara McMann, but she has now lost three fights in a row and is without a victory in well over two years. Reneau's UFC run has been a success relative to what was expected when she entered the company back in January 2015, but she appears to have maxed out her potential value.
Slated for June 20 fight
BantamweightUFC
May 20, 2020
Reneau has agreed to square off against Raquel Pennington in a bantamweight matchup at the UFC's June 20 event, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
At age 42, Reneau may be displaying some signs of slowing down, going home with a defeat in each of her last two contests against Yana Kunitskaya and Cat Zingano. She will attempt to recapture some of her younger magic against Pennington, who also enters the event on a bit of a downturn, having lost three of her last four bouts. Both women have had an extended UFC run, and Reneau holds statistical edges in both striking volume and striking defense. Pennington is the superior grappler on paper, sporting a better takedown average and takedown defense.

ANALYSIS

After more than a year off, the 42-year-old Reneau appears ready to return to the Octagon, where she'll draw a tough test in the surging Vieira. Before suffering her first career loss to Aldana back in December, Vieira had been a candidate to receive a shot at the women's bantamweight title.
