Hawes bout rescheduled
WelterweightUFC
October 13, 2021
Curtis will take on Phil Hawes in a middleweight bout at UFC 268 on Nov. 6, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Curtis stepped in late last week when Deron Winn had to withdraw from his bout with Hawes for an undisclosed reason. Hawes decided he didn't want to face a new opponent on just 24 hours notice, so the UFC will push this fight back a few weeks and put it on the UFC 268 card, where Curtis will be making his promotional debut.

Not fighting against Hawes
WelterweightUFC
October 8, 2021
Curtis' middleweight fight against Phil Hawes set for Saturday at UFC Vegas 39 has been cancelled, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After Deron Winn withdrew from his fight with Hawes, Curtis was called upon as a late-notice replacement. However, Hawes was reluctant to prepare for a new opponent on 24 hours' notice and thus chose to decline the bout. Hawes isn't expected to be featured on Saturday's card at all and will presumably seek a new fight at some point before 2021 comes to a close.
