Garcia defeated Natan Levy via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a job-saving performance from Garcia, as he entered having lost his first two UFC bouts. This one didn't come easy, as Levy was the more effective fighter on the feet, but every time Garcia was in trouble he pushed forward for a takedown and it typically worked. He landed seven of a dozen tries all told, good for 5:37 worth of control time. Garcia's next challenge will be to put together a full 15-minute effort against a fighter who has more than six professional fights under his belt entering the evening.

Garcia lost to Chris Gruetzemacher via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 28 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Committed to the takedown, Garcia attempted to lean on his wrestling in order to secure the victory. It didn't work. Garcia did manage to connect on 5-of-12 attempts, in addition to racking up 6:26 worth of control time, but Garcia's output and efficiency dropped in a significant way following a strong Round 1. Of course, part of that has to do with the fact Gruetzemacher is one of the toughest men around. Garcia joined the UFC in March of this year with a perfect 11-0 record, but he has since gone on to drop a pair of unanimous decisions in a span of just over four months.

Garcia (elbow) is scheduled to take on Chris Gruetzemacher at the UFC event scheduled for July 31, Alex Behunin of Cageside Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Garcia stepped up on short notice to face Nasrat Haqparast in a lightweight matchup in March, ultimately falling via unanimous decision to snap a 12-fight winning streak. It resulted in a medical suspension due to an elbow injury, but that has presumably since been cleared. The former Combate Americas champ will now presumably drop back to his natural weight of featherweight, where he'll hold a two-inch reach advantage over Gruetzemacher. Gruetzemacher is a fighter nearly eight years older who is 1-3 in his past four UFC bouts.

Garcia is facing a potential six-month medical suspension unless he is able to get clearance from a doctor, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Garcia will need clearance from an orthopedic doctor for a positive result from X-ray on a right elbow to rule out a fracture. Garcia made his UFC debut last Saturday against Nasrat Haqparast and was defeated via unanimous decision.
