Algeo's scheduled fight against Ricardo Ramos has officially been removed from the card due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Saturday's fight in jeopardy
April 14, 2021
Algeo's opponent Ricardo Ramos had to pull out of their featherweight bout on Saturday due to COVID-19 protocols, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
With just a few days before the fight was scheduled to take place, it would seem unlikely that the UFC would be able to find a replacement to take on Algeo. They could also look to rebook the Ramos fight in a few weeks time. Algeo is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Spike Carlyle in last November.

Algeo will take on Ricardo Ramos in a featherweight bout at the UFC event on April 17, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
Algeo is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Spike Carlyle in his last fight back in late November. He was able to get his left hand cleared and should be good to go for the April bout. Algeo will look to run his MMA career record to 15-5 and his record under the UFC banner to 2-1.

Outclasses the Alpha Ginger
November 28, 2020
Algeo defeated Spike Carlyle via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 18 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Algeo tested range with kicks early, but Carlyle's relentless pursuit of takedowns eventually brought the fight to the mat. Algeo was nearly finished with a bulldog choke, but was able to escape after Carlyle used a ton of energy looking for the finish. Algeo had a much better second round, as it didn't take him long to take the back of the Alpha Ginger and lock in the body triangle. He spent the rest of the frame hunting submissions and racking up control time. While he conceded position in the final 30 seconds, he was still offensive with elbows from the bottom. Algeo did get taken down in the final round, but got the better end of all the big moments in the striking department, landing several big knees and counter left hands. While Round 1 was questionable, he ended up sweeping the judges' scorecards and improves to 1-1 under the UFC banner. After the fight, he called out Giga Chikadze.
