FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

GOALIE

Semyon Varlamov, COL vs. VAN ($7,600): Varlamov had some struggles in January that bled into February, but he's starting to turn it around. Over his last eight games he has a 2.27 GAA and .934 save percentage. Despite a couple of impressive offensive players, the Canucks have been lackluster offensively by and large. They've only averaged 2.75 goals and 29.5 shots on net per contest.

CENTER

Dylan Strome, CHI at ANA ($5,900): Strome has quelled any fears that he will end up being a bust after being dealt from the offensive desert in Arizona to the Blackhawks. In 39 games with Chicago he has 37 points. Meanwhile, the Ducks have a 3.50 GAA in February, and they've given up 33.7 shots on net per game this season.

Nico Hischier, NJD vs. CGY ($5,600): Hischier has built upon his rookie season this year, as he's notched 17 goals and 43 points in 59 games. He's also increased his power-play output, thanks in part to the fact he's averaged 2:54 per game with the extra man. The Flames are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and David Rittich will likely be in net. After a hot start to the season, Rittich has a 3.13 GAA and .885 save percentage in his last nine outings.

WING

Corey Perry, ANA vs. CHI ($4,600): Perry missed most of the season with an injury, but he's starting to round into form. In his last five games he has two goals and an assist. This is mostly about the matchup, though. The Blackhawks have a 3.73 GAA, which is highest in the NHL.

Andreas Johnsson, TOR vs. EDM ($4,300): Not that the Maple Leafs needed the help offensively, but Johnsson has been red-hot recently. Over his last 10 games he has seven goals and five assists. In one outing, he put a whopping 10 shots on goal. That kind of offensive output will serve his well against the Oilers, who have a 3.35 GAA on the road.

Zach Hyman, TOR vs. EDM ($4,000): Hey, why not have a couple Maple Leafs in your lineup? After all, the Oilers have a 3.35 GAA in away games, not to mention an .891 save percentage as well. Hyman doesn't see much power-play time, but he does skate on Toronto's top line with John Tavares and Mitch Marner. That's helped him notch 27 points in 52 games.

DEFENSE

Victor Hedman, TAM at NYR ($5,800): Hedman hasn't tallied a point in his last few games, but there's nothing to worry about. He has 37 points in 55 games, and he's had as many as 72 points in a season in the past. The Rangers have a 3.31 GAA, and they sold off some key parts at the deadline. Hedman also has 20 points with the extra man, and New York has the 26th-ranked penalty kill.

Hampus Lindholm, ANA vs. CHI ($4,200): Lindholm has 22 points in 57 games, and he's also put 104 shots on net. He's also got six points with the extra man despite a relative lack of power-play time. The Blackhawks have a woeful 3.90 GAA on the road, not to mention the league's worst penalty kill. On top of his offensive numbers, Lindholm has blocked 105 shots as well.
