2018–19 Fantasy Outlook
To say Ancer's career on the PGA Tour got off to a slow start, would be an understatement. Ancer missed the cut in his first nine starts in 2016 and although he went on to make the cut in six of his last 10 starts that season, he never found his footing. His second time around, however, went much better. Although he didn't miss his first nine cuts last season, he did get off to a bit of a slow start with only one top-25 in his first seven starts. Ancer, however, did more than find his footing over the final couple months of the season as he posted three top-10s in his final eight starts. Two of those were top-5s where he actually contended. Ancer held the 54-hole lead at the Dell Technologies Championship and although he faltered in the final round, it should end up being a quality learning experience. Ancer looks like the real deal and he should continue to improve, but how much he'll improve this season is the question. He's got some upside, but at this price, there's plenty of risk as well. Barely misses out on advancing
April 1, 2019
Ancer scored two points during the group stage, but ultimately was half a point short of advancing at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.
Ancer lost his opening match to top seed Paul Casey, but scored victories against Cameron Smith and Charles Howell. Casey would end up advancing out of group 10 with 2.5 points. After a slow start to 2019, Ancer has now cracked the top-20 in consecutive starts. His ball striking has been pretty good, but it's his short game that needs improvement, as he currently sits outside the top-130 in both SG: Around and SG: Putting. Ancer will tee it up in San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open next week.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Ancer's rookie campaign on the PGA Tour during the 2015-16 season didn't go as planned, missing 13 of 19 cuts to ultimately finish 190th in the FedExCup standings and lose his card as a result. A solid bounceback effort on the Web.com Tour this past season included 18 of 23 made cuts and seven top-10s, placing third on the regular season money list and re-earning his PGA Tour card for 2017-18. Another bright spot for Ancer included a made cut during his lone start at the PGA Tour level, posting a T55 at the OHL Classic in November of 2016.
