Abraham Ancer
27-Year-Old Golfer
2018–19 Fantasy Outlook
To say Ancer's career on the PGA Tour got off to a slow start, would be an understatement. Ancer missed the cut in his first nine starts in 2016 and although he went on to make the cut in six of his last 10 starts that season, he never found his footing. His second time around, however, went much better. Although he didn't miss his first nine cuts last season, he did get off to a bit of a slow start with only one top-25 in his first seven starts. Ancer, however, did more than find his footing over the final couple months of the season as he posted three top-10s in his final eight starts. Two of those were top-5s where he actually contended. Ancer held the 54-hole lead at the Dell Technologies Championship and although he faltered in the final round, it should end up being a quality learning experience. Ancer looks like the real deal and he should continue to improve, but how much he'll improve this season is the question. He's got some upside, but at this price, there's plenty of risk as well. Jumps into top-20 on Sunday
January 21, 2019
Ancer moved into a tie for 18th place at the Desert Classic on Sunday after shooting a final round six-under 66.
Ancer gained a total of 28 positions when it was all said and done from where he started the final round. He tallied an eagle and 19 birdies to just five bogeys in La Quinta. Ancer did not drive it great, hitting only 55 percent of the fairways, which ranked T65. He still was able to find 75 percent of the greens in regulation for the week, however. Ancer now has four top-25's in six starts this season. He will tee it up next week at the Farmers Insurance Open where he finished top-20 last season.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Ancer's rookie campaign on the PGA Tour during the 2015-16 season didn't go as planned, missing 13 of 19 cuts to ultimately finish 190th in the FedExCup standings and lose his card as a result. A solid bounceback effort on the Web.com Tour this past season included 18 of 23 made cuts and seven top-10s, placing third on the regular season money list and re-earning his PGA Tour card for 2017-18. Another bright spot for Ancer included a made cut during his lone start at the PGA Tour level, posting a T55 at the OHL Classic in November of 2016.
