This article is part of our CS:GO series.

FaZe Clan were the first team through the ELEAGUE Major: Boston quarterfinals at the Agganis Arena with a solid 2-0 series win over mousesports to advance into the semifinals.

The first quarterfinal matchup between mousesports and FaZe Clan started on mouz's map pick of Nuke. FaZe Clan opened up the first half on the CT-side with a pistol round win and two anti-ecos to follow, before mouz finally got on the board in Round 4 and followed up with another win right after thanks to Robin "ropz" Kool triple and Tomas "oskar" Stastny's double kill to reduce the deficit by one.

Mouz managed to tie the game and seemed well on their way to a lead, but Nikola "NiKo" Kovac had other plans with a 3-vs-4 clutch on the back of his triple kill to secure the round. In the following round, ropz came up huge once again getting a quick double entry-kill to help his team tie the game 4-4, resetting FaZe's economy. Mouz continued to work on FaZe, who went on to win three straight until FaZe finally struck.

FaZe Clan ended the half down 9-6, but a similar start from the first half got them right back in the game with a tie 9-9 score. This time around, however, mouz came out on top in their gun round to stamp a 10-9 lead. The tides started to shift as FaZe started to their shots and clean up the duels to pick up three straight. While mouz managed to reach map point, FaZe fought back to push things into overtime. There, FaZe easily locked down mouz to take the first map 19-16.

"We didn't feel any pressure going into this match because we knew how mouz played, so it was comfortable for us to play our game and win," Havard "rain "Nygaard told eGamerNews.

The series moved into the next map pick of Cache where FaZe started on the T-side. Finn "karrigan" Andersen and co started off smoothly as the team went up 5-0 very convincingly. Mouz finally got on the board in Round 6 as ropz and Miikka "suNny" Kemppi both picked up doubles to secure the round. FaZe stopped mouz in their tracks to win the following round but the German-based team brought it right back close to tying. However, NiKo helped his team advance with the lead to make it 10-5.

Ropz opened the second half with a massive quad kill in the second pistol round and followed it up with another for good measure. Those were but fleeting moments as FaZe battled right back and took over the rest of the game to advance with a 16-9 win.

FaZe Clan will face Natus Vincere on Saturday in the first semifinal set to kick off at 3 p.m. ET.
