The three-time defending-champion Monkeys look uncatchable atop the first-half standings even at this early point in the campaign, winning three straight games to stretch their lead to five games over the second-place Brothers. Friday's matchup will see a duel of left-handed former MLB pitchers. On the mound for the Monkeys will be former Detroit Tiger Ryan Carpenter. After struggling to an 8.57 ERA in 63 innings at the highest level, Carpenter has looked excellent through his first three starts in Taiwan. He's struck out 17 and walked just one in 19 innings of work. He threw 6.2 scoreless innings in a start against the Brothers back in late April. The Brothers will look to 31-year-old Cuban lefty Ariel Miranda in hopes of shutting down a Monkeys offense which has scored nine runs per game this season. Miranda recorded a 4.72 ERA in 223 MLB innings before moving to Japan for the 2019 season. In his first four starts in Taiwan, he's struck out 31 batters in 26 innings while posting an excellent 2.08 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP. This has the potential to be the rare low-scoring CPBL contest.

Top Picks
Ryan Carpenter, Monkeys: Both pitchers have been among the best in the CPBL thus far this season. While Miranda may be slightly better, he also costs 4.5 more credits and is facing an offense that's by far the league's best. Taking Carpenter and saving the credits seems to be the way to go here.
Lin Hung-Yu, Monkeys: Few things in fantasy CPBL are easier than penciling Lin into your lineup. The cleanup hitter for the league's best offense, Lin has been very hot to start this season, hitting .422 with 16 RBI through 15 games.
Chang Chih-Hao, Brothers: At a modestly-priced 10 credits, Chang is a great Brother to include in your lineup, which must include at least three players from each team. The Brothers' number three hitter has hit .322 with a pair of homers and five doubles so far this season.
Lin Li, Monkeys: It's never easy deciding which of the Monkeys' deservedly expensive hitters to squeeze into your lineup. It's hard to go wrong with Lin, however, as he's scored 20 times and driven in 17 runs in 15 games this season.
