2019 Fantasy Outlook
With Ryquell Armstead leading the offense last season, Russo wasn't asked to do too much, which contributed to a run-of-the-mill fantasy season from the redshirt sophomore quarterback. But now the running back corps doesn't look nearly as lethal, which will likely cause the offense to turn to the pass a little more often. They expanded the play-calling late in the season, but he still only averaged 277.7 yards with a 61.4 completion percentage over the final seven games, and he showed ball control issues with nine interceptions. With teams not having to crowd the box against the run this season, Russo will have a tough time building on his average 2018. Read Past Outlooks

Calf
August 23, 2019
Russo (calf) has been out on the practice field working back into the swing of things but is not yet ready for a full practice, Marc Narducci of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Russo is a lot further along in his rehab process than anybody expected at this point. Head Coach Rod Carey is very optimistic that the junior quarterback could be going through a whole practice by Monday. However, if he is still limited by Tuesday's practice, his status for the team's opening game on August 31 against Bucknell will certainly be in question. Sophomore quarterback Todd Centeio will start under center if Russo is unavailable for the Owl's week 1 game.
