This article is part of our Bowl Game Pick 'Em series.
A number of games were near consensus, however. Nick Grays is the only backer of Colorado State over Washington State (-3) in the New Mexico Bowl, while Chris Morgan was the lone voice to say East Carolina would not cover the 13-point spread against Ohio in Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl. Chris Bennet is only writer picking Miami over Louisville (-3) in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
Mario Puig took the points with Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl while Chris Winkler and Ethan Padway are confident enough that Baylor will cover the 16.5 spread to make the Bears their Best Bets. Padway is also the only writer to take Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri (-1.5).
Jason Thornbury is the lone believer in Syracuse, a 4.5-point underdog to Minnesota in the Texas Bowl. Greg Vara went the other way by making the Golden Gophers his Best Bet.
As for the BCS Championship, six of the eight writers went with Florida State to cover the 6.5-point spread while Morgan and Bennett went with Auburn.
Picks are against the spread. Best Bets are in bold. Losers are noted as such.
Happy Bowling.
(UPDATE: Tony Goldenstein, who covers the Big Ten, was a late entry.)
POST-BOWL UPDATE: Congratulations to Mario Puig who lapped the field to win the Bowl Pick 'Em
