Suffers season-ending injury
Penn is out for the rest of the season after suffering a left foot injury in Sunday's victory over Baylor.
ANALYSIS
This is an incredibly difficult blow to deal with for a Drake team slated for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament, as Penn was the team's point guard, assists leader (5.5 apg) and second-leading scorer (11.2 ppg). It's encouraging that sophomore Joseph Yesufu scored a career-high 36 points when drawing the start in Penn's stead Monday, but Yesufu is now the only double-digit scorer that's healthy. Forward and leading scorer ShanQuan Hemphill (14.1 ppg) is also set to miss a month due to a foot injury.
