DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Today's College Basketball action includes seven top-25 teams in play ahead of a large DFS slate on the main sites. DraftKings is upping things by featuring their $18 Fadeaway contest with a massive $10,000 top payout, while FanDuel highlights the $7 All American Contest with a $4,000 first prize. DK starts a half hour earlier at 6:30 p.m. EST.

Top Players

Ryan Hawkins, F, Creighton ($8,100 DK)

Hawkins has been on a tear during Creighton's five-game winning streak, averaging 20.2 points on 51 percent shooting with three double-doubles during that stretch. As the Bluejays have worked their way into the bubble conversation, Hawkins has rarely came off the court (38.2 mpg over his last five) and has been the team's clear go-to option (team-high 21.5 percent usage rate over his last 10). With a matchup against St. John's, who plays at the second-fastest tempo in the country (per KenPom), Hawkins has a green-light fantasy game on tap.

Blake Wesley, G, Notre Dame ($7,200 DK)

Gone are the days when Wesley was a minimum salary, but that's not to say that Notre Dame's leading scorer doesn't still provide value. He should enjoy his first ever matchup against Syracuse, a team that's allowed over 70 points in seven straight games and ranks 197th in defensive efficiency this season (per KenPom). Wesley is averaging 5.5 three-point attempts per game and should get plenty of good looks against the 2-3 zone.

Middle Tier

Wendell Green, G, Auburn ($6,900 DK, $6,200 FD)

Green is an even better value on FanDuel tonight, and he's also priced down from $8,400 less than a month ago on DraftKings. It's not as if he's fallen off a cliff since then either, as he's recorded four 30+ point fantasy games this month, including a 23-8-6 stat line against Alabama. Green leads the team with a 26.7 percent usage rate. Sub .500 Ole Miss shouldn't put up much resistance against him.

Bryce Golden, F, Butler ($5,100 DK)

Golden has been a little quiet recently after emerging with a 22-point performance against Marquette a couple weeks ago. This looks like a good time for him to bounce back against Seton Hall, who he scored 19 against on 78 percent shooting in their first meeting. Golden has been one of the main options offensively outside of Chuck Harris, and in this salary range, it's not easy to find significant contributors that are likely to see 30 minutes.

Values

Ian Schieffelin, F, Clemson ($4,300 DK, $3,600 DK)

With Hunter Tyson out indefinitely, Schieffelin has entered the starting lineup and posted a pair of 20-point fantasy performances over four starts in his place. With Clemson 12-15 and looking towards the future, the Tigers are giving the freshman an opportunity. Albeit a limited sample size, he's shown himself to be a good long-range shooter and rebounder. He should see plenty of opportunities against a Wake Forest squad that likes to push the pace.

Jadan Coleman, G, Tulane ($4,100 DK)

Digging further down the salary board leads us to Coleman, who has started the last two games for Tulane. He's averaging 14.0 ppg in five starts this season and is shooting a whopping 49 percent from long-range. Even in a tougher matchup against a strong Houston team, it's hard to find many players in this price range that not only start but are involved in the offense, with Coleman taking 24 percent of the team's shots when he's on the floor.
