DFS College Basketball: Saturday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Saturday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

It's an action packed day on-tap for Saturday's College Basketball festivities, with five top-25 teams apart of the seven-game DraftKings slate — highlighted by their $12 Heating Up Contest starting at 1:30 p.m. EST with a $2,000 top payout.

Top Players

Trayce Jackson-Davis, F, Indiana ($8,400 DK, $8,300 FD)

Jackson-Davis has been one of the best fantasy players in the country this season, leading the Saturday slate in fantasy points per game on the strength of 1.26 fantasy points per minute. Notre Dame has struggled to defend the paint this season, most recently allowing Kentucky center Oscar Tshiebwe to post 25 points and seven rebounds. With three 50-point fantasy games already, Jackson-Davis has the upside in GPPs to be the slate's highest scorer.

Taz Sherman, G, West Virginia ($8,100 DK, $8,400 FD)

Sherman has been a workhorse in his third season for the Mountaineers, admirably filling the void left by Derek Culver and Miles McBride to lead the team in points (21.8) and assists (3.2). He hasn't disappointed fantasy players who have rostered him, reaching his salary expectation in all but one game. With UAB playing at a quick pace this game has a good chance for both teams to get into the 70s.

Middle Tier

Justin Lewis, F, Marquette ($6,800 DK, $7,500 FD)

If you like up-tempo games, look no further than the Marquette-Xavier matchup, which has the slate's highest over/under and a prime game to stack. After an inconsistent first season with the Golden Eagles, Lewis has emerged as the team's main offensive option, averaging 11.9 shot attempts per game while also leading the team with 7.8 rebounds. He's unlikely to come off the floor much and should have a good opportunity for a double-double.

Jordan Usher, G/F, Georgia Tech ($6,800 DK, $7,400 FD)

Usher has been hit-or-miss this season, scoring 30-plus fantasy points six times this season but has also put up a couple clunkers with less than 15. That has him down to the lowest salary he's had all season on DraftKings and a nice value. Although he's not the team's biggest player at 6-foot-7, he's been the most efficient rebounder for Georgia Tech, posting three double-digit rebounding efforts. Usher is also a good bet to log 35-plus minutes as long as the game stays competitive.

Values

Blake Wesley, G, Notre Dame ($4,300 DK, $5,900 FD)

Wesley is likely to be one of the highest rostered players, especially on DraftKings where he gets a $1,600 discount compared to FanDuel. He ranks fourth among players on the slate in percentage of shots when he's on the court (30.6 percent) and averages 28 minutes since entering the starting lineup two games back. Wesley has shown efficient shooting numbers early on in his freshman campaign, connecting on 39 percent of threes.

Eric Gaines, G, LSU ($3,600 DK)

In paying up for some of the most expensive options, we'll have to dig a little deeper with some cheaper options and Gaines fits the bill. Despite playing the team's sixth-man role, he's still averaging more than 26 minutes per game and provides a safe floor for a sub $4k player with at least 19 fantasy points in every game. A matchup against a Louisiana Tech team that has been much better on the offensive end shouldn't provide much resistance.
