Graham appeared in 63 games for the Hornets during the 2019-20 season. He averaged career highs across the board, posting 18.2 points, 7.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals across 35.1 minutes. The second-year guard shot 38.2 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from three and 82.0 percent from the free-throw line. He also set new single-game career-highs in points (40), assists (15), threes (10), rebounds (nine) and steals (four). Graham had 23 games with at least 20 points, 16 games with at least five rebounds and 18 games with at least 10 assists. He also had five performances with at least three steals and 13 performances with at least one block. Graham had 17 double-doubles. Graham's longest streak of 20-point games was four contests from Mar. 5 through Mar. 11. During that stretch, he averaged 26.0 points on 18.0 shots, 7.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 rebounds in 37.2 minutes. Graham's longest streak with seven-plus assists spanned six games from Dec. 22 through Jan. 4. At the end of the regular season, Graham ranked eighth in the NBA in total minutes played (2,211), fifth in total made three-pointers (218) and fourth in total assists (471).
2018
Devonte' Graham spent his rookie season between the Charlotte Hornets and their G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. Graham played 46 games for the Hornets and started three times. He averaged 4.7 points (on 34.3 percent shooting) and 2.6 assists in 15 minutes per game. He also shot 28 percent from behind the arc. Graham scored a season-high 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-6 from long range, on Apr. 3 against the Pelicans. He scored in double digits eight times throughout the season, including a stretch of four games straight from Dec . 28 to Jan. 5. Graham had a season-high nine assists on Mar. 24 in Toronto. He finished the contest with 10 points, nine assists, three rebounds and two steals, which was arguably his best performance of the season. Graham tallied at least three assists on 20 occasions. He gathered four rebounds on two occasions. Graham flashed enough upside during his rookie season to possibly take on a larger role in 2019-20, especially if the Hornets lose Kemba Walker to free agency.
