After appearing in 45 games (31 starts) for the Nets, LeVert set season highs nearly across the board in his fourth NBA season. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 18.7 points, 4.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 29.6 minutes per game, all of which were career highs. Those numbers fueled a 29.5 percent usage rate -- 17th highest in the NBA. On Feb. 8, LeVert had his first of five games with at least 30 points, posting 37 points against the Raptors. Not too long afterward, on Mar. 3 in a win at Boston, LeVert scored a career-high 51 points (17-26 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 12-18 FT). In that contest, he also added five assists, four rebounds and one steal in 36 minutes of run. Two games later, the Michigan product had a triple-double during a 19-point win over the Spurs, recording 27 points (9-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 11 rebounds and 10 assists in 31 minutes. Shortly after, the NBA went on hiatus due to COVID-19. When the league resumed in late July, the Nets were one of 22 teams invited to participate in the Orlando bubble. LeVert appeared in six of a possible eight seeding games, averaging 25.0 points, 6.7 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 33.1 minutes. Those numbers led to LeVert being named to the Kia NBA All-Seeding Games Second Team. In four playoff contests against the Raptors, LeVert averaged 20.3 points, 9.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 34.9 minutes. The high scoring wing missed 24 games from Nov. 12 through to Jan. 2 due to a right thumb injury.

What looked to be a big-time breakout season for Caris LeVert was put on hold as he missed nearly three months with a dislocated foot. Prior to the injury, he averaged 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on 47.5 percent shooting. He started each of the Brooklyn Nets' first 14 games. The University of Michigan product made a surprisingly quick recovery and appeared in 40 regular season games. By the end of the campaign, LeVert was looking more like his early-season self. He scored double-digit points in seven of his last eight games, averaging 16 points on 48.9 percent shooting (45.2 percent on three-point attempts). The 6-foot-7 forward then took it to another level in the postseason. LeVert averaged 21 points -- including back-to-back games with at least 25 points -- 4.6 rebounds, and three assists while shooting 49.3 percent from the field. Overall, he produced career highs in most offensive categories. A dip in his shooting percentages can be explained by his increased role on the offensive end.

LeVert's second season in the league saw a major increase in playing time, as he played in a career-high 71 games. The Michigan man averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds while playing 26.3 minutes per night. He recorded his first career double-double versus Oklahoma City on Dec. 7 by scoring 21 points and dishing out 10 assists. LeVert would go on to record a career-high 11 assists at Miami on Dec. 29, while also adding 12 points and grabbing five rebounds in the victory. He would go on to set a new career-high in rebounds against the Heat by pulling down 12 boards - including 10 off the defensive glass - while pouring in 19 points and handing out eight assists on Mar. 31 during a one-point win. He scored a season-high 27 points against the Clippers on Mar. 4 while draining a career-high five three-pointers. He scored at least 20 points on six occasions, including a 22-point, eight-assist night against Charlotte on Mar. 8. LeVert also recorded five steals in a Nov. 6 encounter with Phoenix. He went on to post eight games with eight or more assists on the season. He also made a career-best 85 three-pointers, while shooting a career-high .347 from beyond the arc.

The 2016-17 season was Caris LeVert's rookie year in the Association. The first-round draft pick of the Nets missed the first 20 games of the season to rehab a left foot injury that occurred while in college. LeVert made his Nets and NBA debut on Dec. 7 versus Denver, recording four rebounds and three steals in nine minutes. LeVert would appear in 57 of Brooklyn's last 62 games, delivering per game averages of 8.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.0 made threes. On Dec. 23, LeVert grabbed a career-high seven boards during a loss in Cleveland. He would have five games this season with seven rebounds. On Jan. 20, the athletic wing scored 17 points from a perfect 6-of-6 shooting in a win over the Pelicans. On Apr. 4, LeVert dished a career-high seven assists in a win over the Sixers. The rookie tallied a career-high 20 points on Apr. 6 at Orlando and then 19 points the next contest versus Chicago after scoring 19 points once in his first 53 games. LeVert's Nets finished the year with a record of 20-62 and missed the playoffs.
