Nuggets Obliterate Hawks
The Denver Nuggets defeated the visiting Atlanta Hawks, 138-93, at Pepsi Center on Thursday evening.

The Nuggets went straight to work, as they kicked the game off with a 13-0 run, through the four minutes of the quarter. They went on to outscore the Hawks, 35-23, in the first quarter. The Hawks picked it up to start the second, and cut the deficit to nine, however the Nuggets kept up the pace and managed to increase their lead to 73-57 by halftime. Denver remained relentless, as the Nuggets outscored the Hawks by 20 in the third quarter, to put the game entirely out of reach, with a 36-point deficit heading into the fourth. The win marks the end of a four-game skid for the Nuggets, and also the sixth straight loss for Atlanta.

Seven players scored in double digits for the Nuggets, led by Juancho Hernangomez, who tallied 25 points, nine rebounds, one assists and one steal, in 31 minutes. Garry Harris followed up with 18 points, four assists, three rebounds and two blocks, while Paul Millsap finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks. The Nuggets shot 56 percent from the field, including 13-of-31 from deep.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Lin led the Hawks with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, in 25 minutes off the bench. Kent Bazemore added 14 points and two rebounds, while Omari Spellman finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block. The Hawks shot just 35 percent from the field, including 9-of-42 from long range.

The Hawks (3-12) will look to end the slide as they take on the Pacers in Indiana on Saturday. The Nuggets (10-5) take on the Pelicans in New Orleans on Saturday.
