Giannis Antetokounmpo's time as the frontrunner of the MVP race was put on hold when James Harden and the Rockets went on a insane run, but the Greek Freak is looking to have the final say before the All-Star break, and Monday's performance was yet another example of why this race is far from over. Antetokounmpo posted a game-high 31 points, 15 rebounds and five assists in the Bucks' 10-point win over the Mavericks on Monday, and it was the second straight game that he had at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Now, since Antetokounmpo dominated Harden and the Rockets to the sound of 27 points, 21 rebounds and five assists in a seven-point victory just under two weeks ago, the 24-year-old is averaging 24.8 points, 12.2 rebound and 5.4 assists while shooting 56.2 percent from the field.

The Warriors tallied 130 points on Monday, including 45 in the third quarter. The offensive outburst gave the team its eighth straight win and strengthened Golden State's grip on the top spot in the Western Conference and the league's top offensive rating. Most impressive of all, however, was the historic night that shooting guard Klay Thompson had. Thompson set an NBA record by knocking down his first 10 three-point attempts. He finished the night having shot 10-of-11 from three-point range and 17-of-20 from the field, good for 44 points in total. The Lakers, meanwhile, struggled to find scoring in the absence of LeBron James, Rajon Rondo, and Lonzo Ball. Only two Lakers starters scored in double digits. Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma scored 17 and 16 respectively, while Ivica Zubac led LA with 18 off the bench.
