Wins marathon Indian Wells final
October 17, 2021
Badosa won 7-6 (5), 2-6, 7-6 (2) over Victoria Azarenka in the final of Indian Wells on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Badosa won what was by far the biggest title of her career as she outlasted the two-time Indian Wells champion in an epic final that spanned just past three hours. The 23-year-old Spaniard only had one previous title in her career, which also came in 2021, but she's proving that she's capable of continuing to to rise up the ranks of the women's game. Badosa came up clutch in this final, as she actually won nine fewer points throughout the match than the veteran Belarusian.
