Julio Baptista: Julio Baptista: Scores first-ever MLS goal

Posted on May 31, 2016 at 6:32 AM

Baptista scored the first of two Orlando City goals Sunday as the Lions played NYCFC to a 2-2 draw on the road.

A well-timed lob pass from Kevin Molino to Baptista in the 72nd minute of Sunday's fixture found the latter turning to his left near the top of the NYCFC box, firing across his body toward the left corner of the net and netting both Orlando City's first score of the game and his first-ever MLS goal. The forward, who has taken at least a single shot in six of his last seven appearances, now joins seven other Lions having found the back of the net this season and currently remains tied with Rafael Ramos for No. 3 in assists (2) for the year.
