Kevin Garnett: Re-Signs For Three-Years, $34 Million

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 7:30 AM

Garnett signed a three-year, $34 million deal with Boston on Saturday, Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears reports.

Garnett likely will remain a strong presence in the paint for Boston, even at age 36. The fire is certainly still there, and he averaged 18.3 points and 9.5 rebounds over 36 minutes in the regular season last year, shooting 50.3 percent from the field. He could see a dip in his minutes (31.1 per game) with the additions of Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo, but the Celtics are still unproven at the four and five spots, so Boston will remain dependent on Garnett for the beginning of the 2012 season at the least.
