Posted on April 9, 2008 at 7:19 PM

Rays manager Joe Maddon said Wednesday that Floyd (knee) probably would be out for 4-to-6 weeks, but Floyd thinks he could be back in as soon as three weeks, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

Floyd will undergo surgery Friday after an MRI Wednesday revealed a meniscus tear in his right knee. Eric Hinske and Jonny Gomes will platoon at DH while Floyd is out, with Nathan Haynes and Justin Ruggiano platooning in right field.
