The Marines announced Wednesday that Laird (back) underwent season-ending surgery to address a herniated disc earlier this week.
ANALYSIS
Laird was deactivated Aug. 5 after experiencing back stiffness, and the 33-year-old apparently hadn't completely moved past the issue in the two-plus months that followed. He'll continue his rehab in the United States with the goal of being back to full strength next spring.
