Gets new opponent
April 7, 2021
Sherman will fight Andrei Arlovski instead of Parker Porter (undisclosed) at UFC Vegas 24 on April 17, Mike Heck of reports.
It's unclear why Porter is unable to fight next weekend. Sherman won in his return to the UFC last May, but he had since served a banned substances suspension. The 31-year-old will return to the Octagon against Arlovski, who lost via submission to Tom Aspinall in February. Arlovski is 3-2-0 over his last five appearances.

Paired with Parker Porter
January 29, 2021
Sherman will take on Parker Porter on April 17, reports.
Sherman won a TKO victory over Ike Villanueva in May to open his second stint with the UFC but has spent the time since then serving a USADA suspension. The nine-month ban was handed out in October but backdated to May, the date of the test, so he'll be eligible to fight again by April. In Porter, he'll face a fighter who owns a 1-1 record at the UFC level
Suspended for failed drug test
October 20, 2020
Sherman has been suspended for nine months by the USADA following a failed drug test, reports.
Sherman tested positive for anastrozole, which is an anti-estrogen drug that is a banned substance for all athletes competing in the UFC. The test was administered before his most recent fight on May 13 when he defeated Ike Villanueva via TKO. Sherman will be ineligible to fight again until February 13, 2021.
Wins in return to UFC
May 13, 2020
Sherman defeated Ike Villanueva via TKO (strikes) at 0:49 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Wednesday in Jacksonville.
Sherman looked good in his first UFC bout in a year and a half. He applied constant pressure to the debuting Villanueva, and his opponent didn't possess the necessary skills to get out of the way of incoming fire. It's a nice story given the fact Sherman has had a rough go of it of late, but expectations must be kept in check. Sherman entered Wednesday's action with a 2-5 record in seven bouts with the UFC, and it seems highly unlikely this was anything more than Sherman taking advantage of inferior competition. Still, his victory ensures he will get another fight with the company and that wasn't guaranteed with a loss.
Ticketed for May 13 UFC bout
May 2, 2020
Sherman will square off against Ike Villanueva on the May 13 card in Jacksonville, reports.
Sherman fell out of the UFC ranks back in 2018 after three consecutive losses but has earned his way back in following three straight victories on a regional circuit. He takes on a UFC newcomer in Villanueva, who will debut at the age of 36 after four straight wins in Fury, including his most recent victory over former UFC fighter Rashad Coulter.
Gases out in loss to Augusto Sakai Saturday
September 22, 2018
Sherman lost to Augusto Sakai via TKO (punches) at 4:03 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Sherman has a chin of granite and is stupidly tough. What he doesn't possess is a gas tank of any sort or any striking defense whatsoever. Any athleticism edge that Sherman had over Sakai was more than cancelled out by the fact Sherman was totally exhausted after just a few minutes. Sherman is entertaining and marketable, but he simply has too many holes in his game. A loser of three straight fights, Sherman seems likely to be handed his walking papers.
