Fighting Vettori at UFC Sacramento
WelterweightUFC
May 14, 2019
Ferreira (knee) will take on Marvin Vettori in a middleweight matchup at UFC Sacramento on July 13.
ANALYSIS
Ferreira has won five of his past seven fights, though he most recently suffered a unanimous decision loss to Ian Heinisch. He was then scheduled to face Tom Breese in February's card in London, but was forced to withdraw due to an unspecified knee injury. Now presumably healthy, he'll look to get back in the win column in what will be his 15th fight with the company. Ferreira won't impress many with his striking, but he does own nearly three takedowns per 15 minutes of fight time in his long career, while Vettori's takedown defense sits at 73 percent.

Taking on Tom Breese in London
WelterweightUFC
January 8, 2019
Ferreira will square off against Tom Breese at UFC London on March 16, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ferreira has a 9-5 record with the UFC but has lost two of his last four matches, most recently falling by unanimous decision against Ian Heinisch at UFC Fight Night 140 in November. His opponent, will be defending his home soil and has gone 9-0 as a professional in England.
Falters in decision loss
WelterweightUFC
November 17, 2018
Ferreira lost to Ian Heinisch via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 140 on Saturday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
ANALYSIS
It was widely assumed that Ferreira would have the jujitsu advantage in this fight but it was Heinisch who threatened with an armbar in Round 1 and prevented "Mutante" from advancing position during takedowns. It was looking like the fight was swinging back in Ferreira's favor in Round 2 but he never quite recovered the momentum after being knocked down at the end of the frame. While his jujitsu is still a weapon in the cage, it looks as though he is still hittable on the feet, and doesn't come with enough output to balance the scales. He falls to 13-7 as a result of the loss.
Locks in fight vs. Tom Breese
WelterweightUFC
August 22, 2018
Ferreira will fight Tom Breese at UFC Buenos Aires on Nov. 17, Dave Doyle of MMAfighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ferriera is on a roll right now, most recently earning a submission victory over Karl Roberson in May. That marked a second consecutive win for the welterweight fighter, while it was also his fifth over his last six matchups. He'll now face off with Breese, who after a two-year layoff earned a knockout victory in his return to the Octagon in May over Daniel Kelly. Both fighters will be looking to ride their own respective momentum and Ferreira could look to use his 78-inch reach to stay comfortably out of the way of Breese's powerful strikes, considering his opponent has a reach of just 73 inches.
Easily submits overmatched Karl Roberson Saturday
WelterweightUFC
May 12, 2018
Ferreira defeated Karl Roberson via submission (arm triangle) at 4:45 of Round 1 at UFC 224 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.
ANALYSIS
Credit Ferreira for realizing where he had a significant edge and for taking advantage of it. Not liking what he was seeing in the striking exchanges between the two men early in the bout, Mutante began to lean on the takedown and his submission game and Roberson had no response. A massive middleweight, it's insane to think that Ferreira once competed at welterweight. His victory on Saturday improves the Brazilian's record to 5-1 in his last six contests and keeps him within shouting distance of the top-10 in the UFC's 185 pound division.
