No-shows Vegas loss
FlyweightUFC
December 9, 2023
Hernandez lost to Tatsuro Taira via TKO (punches) at 0:55 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Hernandez was dominated from bell-to-bell, which is often the result when you enter as a +400 underdog, second-largest on the entire card. He didn't land a single strike in Round 1 while spending virtually the entire frame on his back. It only got worse for Hernandez in Round 2, at which point Taira unloaded with a combination that crumbled him and forced referee Mark Smith to step in. A product of Dana White's Contender Series, Hernandez has alternated losses and wins in his first four UFC bouts.

Gets right back in win column

Hernandez defeated Denys Bondar via technical unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a stellar rebound performance from Hernandez on the heels of his first round submission loss to Allan Nascimento this past January. He displayed fast hands and excellent cardio throughout the fight. Well on his way to winning a decision, Hernandez slammed Bondar to the mat with just seconds to go and proceeded to rain countless elbows down on his opponent. Referee Jerin Valel halted the bout with just a couple seconds to go. He eventually went to replay and determined an accidental clash of heads on the way to the mat resulted in Bondar being knocked out. It cost Hernandez the stoppage, but not the victory, which is all that matters. The 29-year-old Chicago native improves to 2-1 with the UFC.
Set for June 17 fight

April 28, 2023
Hernandez is scheduled to fight Denys Bondar at UFC Vegas 75 on June 17, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Hernandez will return to the Octagon for the second time this year after he lost to Allan Nascimento via a Round 1 submission (rear-naked choke) back in January. The 29-year-old was victorious in his UFC debut after earning a promotion from Dana White's Contender Series and will look to right the ship against Bondar, who has not fought since February of 2022.
Taps to Allan Nascimento
FlyweightUFC
January 14, 2023
Hernandez lost to Allan Nascimento via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:16 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A product of Dana White's Contender Series, Hernandez earned his UFC opportunity with a split decision win over Daniel Barez in October 2021. He then earned another split decision win over Victor Altamirano in his official company debut last February. He could not replicate that success in this fight. Under immediate and constant pressure from Nascimento, Hernandez quickly found himself being controlled on the mat and tapping out shortly thereafter. Still without a knockout victory in his professional career, Hernandez will look for a better performance his next time out.
