Vanderaa lost to Sergey Spivak via TKO in Round 2 (4:32) at UFC Vegas 19 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Vanderaa struggled mightily to defend Spivak's grappling, as Spivak gained 8:32 of control time while landing three takedowns on three attempts. Once on the ground, Vanderaa could not stop Spivak from advancing into a dominant position, which led to a ground-and-pound stoppage from Spivak.

Vanderaa (illness) and Sergey Spivak agreed Monday to rebook their heavyweight fight for the UFC's Feb. 20 event, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The two fighters were slated to square off at UFC 256 in December, but the bout was cancelled due to Vanderaa's positive COVID-19 test. Vanderaa has apparently recovered from the virus without issue, so both fighters will finally get the chance to meet one another in the Octagon just over two months later.

Vanderaa is being targeted to face Sergey Spivak (undisclosed) in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 256 on Dec. 12, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Vanderaa was awarded an official UFC contract Wednesday when he defeated Harry Hunsucker via TKO (ground and pound) at Dana White's Contender Series. He called out Spivak following the fight, and he'll get his wish during his UFC debut in December. Spivak has alternated wins and losses since he made his UFC debut in May of 2019, most recently defeating Carlos Felipe via majority decision in July. He was forced to withdraw from an Oct. 10 fight for an undisclosed reason, but he'll apparently be ready to return by December. Vanderaa carries advantages in both height and reach.
First of four contracts Wednesday

Vanderaa defeated Harry Hunsucker via TKO (ground and pound) at 3:34 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Vanderaa ate a couple of early combinations against a fighter who seemingly had a speed advantage, but one of his calling cards is his chin, and it held up here. He was eventually able to body up Hunsucker and execute a takedown, and from there it was pretty much over. Vanderaa established side control against a crouched Hunsucker and started to lay down unanswered ground-and-pound, forcing the referee to step in and call off the action. It likely won't be long before we see Vanderaa schedule his debut, as he didn't appear to take a ton of damage in the first-round finish.
