Targeted for April debut

Khizriev is in line for a middleweight matchup against Kyle Daukaus at the UFC event scheduled for April 10, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Khizriev needed less than a minute in the cage to submit his opponent on Contender Series this past September, and is entering the UFC with four first-round stoppages in his previous five bouts under the banner of Fight Nights Global. In fact, nine of his 13 professional wins have been earned via stoppage. He'll give up pretty sizable height and reach advantages to Daukaus, a fellow Contender Series alum who is 1-1 in official UFC fights.

ANALYSIS
The fight is still nearly a month away, but Turman won't be back in fighting shape by then as he'll be on medication for another two weeks. It's not yet clear whether Khizriev will remain on the card against a new opponent.

ANALYSIS
Khizriev picked up a win and contract on Dana White's Contender Series in September and will be making his UFC debut. He sports a 13-0 overall MMA record. His opponent, Turman, had his most recent fight cancelled after testing positive for COVID-19.
Quick submission earns contract

Khizriev defeated Henrique Shiguemoto via submission (rear-naked choke) in Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Khizriev looked every bit the part of a betting favorite of nearly (-400), as he rolled through his opponent to improve his undefeated record to 13-0. After recovering from a slip early, Khizriev went for the takedown, which he quickly achieved. From there, he was able to take Shiguemoto's back and secure the position for the RNC after less than a minute had elapsed. There's plenty of ceiling here for the 30-year-old, who should be able to get back in the cage quickly after absorbing relatively little damage here.
