Booked for November fight
MiddleweightUFC
August 23, 2020
Arroyo will take on Andreas Michailidis in a middleweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for Nov. 14, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Arroyo has had a rocky run with the UFC since winning a contract on last summer's Contender Series. His debut opponent (Kevin Holland) had to withdraw, and Arroyo instead took a fight against Andre Muniz, which he lost via unanimous decision. The result wasn't particularly encouraging for those looking to roster him in daily formats, as he landed a total of 29 significant strikes in the 15-minute affair. Arroyo then had a February bout with Trevin Giles fall through due to weight cutting issues, but he'll give it one more go at middleweight in November. Michailidis didn't have much luck in his first and only UFC fight, either, as the fight was waved off after the first round when he attempted to lean against a cage that wasn't there. Arroyo will have a three-inch height advantage here, but Michailidis will have his own three-inch advantage in reach.
