Losing streak hits three
Baeza lost to Andre Fialho via TKO (punches) at 4:39 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A strange road to fight night ended in disaster for Baeza. He was originally scheduled to face Dhiego Lima here before Lima decided to retire this past February. Baeza looked fine for the majority of Round 1 before one Fialho uppercut and a few follow-up strikes forced referee Mark Smith to step in. Baeza was furious with the stoppage, which is understandable considering this was his third straight defeat dating back to June of last year, and it's highly unlikely he get a fourth opportunity with the company. Just ten months go Baeza was sporting a perfect 3-0 record in the UFC. Times change fast in this sport.

New opponent steps in
Baeza will face Andre Fialho in a welterweight bout at UFC's April 16 even, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Baeza's originally scheduled opponent, Dhiego Lima, abruptly retired earlier in February, but Baeza will remain on the card and attempt to end his two-bout losing streak. Fialho is serving as a replacement for the second fight in a row after falling to Michel Pereira at UFC 270 in January on short notice.

Scheduled opponent abruptly retires
Baeza's scheduled welterweight matchup against Dhiego Lima on April 16 appears to be in jeopardy after Lima unexpectedly announced his retirement via his personal Instagram account Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
There's of course plenty of time for Lima to have a change of heart given the scheduled bout is more than two months down the road, though Lima did say in his post that God had spoken to him and he will obey. Fortunately for Baeza, the announcement leaves plenty of time for the UFC to find "Caramel Thunder" a new opponent if he wishes to remain on the fight card.

Next fight on tap
Baeza will fight Dhiego Lima at a UFC event April 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Nederland reports.
ANALYSIS
Baeza has lost each of his last two fights, with his most recent loss coming to Kalinn Williams at UFC Fight Night 197 by TKO (punches). However, he owns a sparkling 10-2 record in professional bouts, so he'll look to get back on track against Lima, who is also coming off a loss in his last fight.
