Still looking for first UFC win
BantamweightUFC
February 29, 2020
Silva lost to Kyler Phillips via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Norfolk, Virginia.
ANALYSIS
The UFC is going to have a difficult time running Silva back out there following a second straight lopsided loss to begin his time with the company, even if this bout did end up taking home Fight of the Night honors. The Brazilian really struggled against Ray Borg in his first UFC bout last July and looked even worse on Saturday. Silva's takedown defense and striking defense appear to be severely lacking and his struggles defensively have really limited Silva's ability to generate anything offensively through his first two fights. The 25-year-old was a perfect 8-0 on the regional circuit prior to his arrival in the UFC.

Booked for UFC Norfolk
BantamweightUFC
December 30, 2019
Silva will take on Kyler Phillips in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Norfolk on Feb. 29, Jami Frankenberry of The Virginian-Pilot reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva suffered his first professional loss in his UFC debut against Ray Borg via unanimous decision at UFC San Antonio in July, but he will look to bounce back against Phillips, who will be making his UFC debut. Silva held his own against Borg, as he showed promise in his striking. However, he faltered down the stretch and allowed Borg to secure several takedown attempts. Phillips carries a slight height advantage.
Overmatched in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
July 20, 2019
Silva lost to Ray Borg via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC San Antonio on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Silva saw a lot of late money coming towards him that narrowed the betting odds leading up to fight day, but he was unable to do enough to pull off the upset. He did force Borg to respect his striking early, as Borg quickly decided he was going to take this fight to the ground. Silva did hold his own, escaping several submission attempts and even landing in top position on multiple occasions. In the end, however, the constant pressure of Borg proved too much for the 24-year-old. The third round was dominated by a fresher Borg, who secured another takedown each time Silva got back to his feet, threatening with multiple submissions along the way. It will go down as the Brazilian's first professional loss, but there's plenty of room to grow for the Team Nogueira product.
