Slated for June 13 bout
FeatherweightUFC
May 23, 2020
Fili is in a verbal agreement to fight Charles Jourdain in a featherweight matchup on the June 13 UFC card, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fili will aim to get back in the win column after coming up short against Sodiq Yusuff at UFC 246 in January. The 29-year-old fighter sports a two-inch height advantage and a five-inch reach advantage over his opponent, so he will likely aim to keep his opponent at a distance with the added extension. Fili is no slouch when it hits the mat either, sporting a much higher takedown average and takedown defense average than Jourdain, who has yet to attempt a takedown in his two UFC-sanctioned fights. Fili also gets the nod from the sportsbooks, as he sits as a (-205) betting favorite shortly after the announcement of the bout.

Falls at UFC 246
FeatherweightUFC
January 18, 2020
Fili lost to Sodiq Yusuff via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 246 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fili fought better than the "unanimous decision" loss label would lead you to believe. Fili looked fairly strong over the course of the final ten minutes but Yusuff picked him apart on the feet in the early going and that was ultimately enough to cost Fili the decision. Fili did manage to land three of his six takedown attempts but did nothing with his positional advantage. Fili has more talent than your average featherweight but has always been held back by consistency issues. That seems unlikely to rectify itself at age 29. Always one of the more active fighters on the UFC roster, Fili is 4-3 in his past seven fights dating back to July 2017.

Fili will take on Sodiq Yusuff (foot) in a featherweight matchup at UFC 246 on Jan. 18, Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Fili has won four of his last five fights dating back to October of 2017, with his most recent victory coming against Sheymon Moraes via KO (punches) at UFC Sacramento in July. The 29-year-old, who is 8-5 since joining the UFC, will look to continue his run against Yusuff, who carries a 10-1 record over his professional career, including a 3-0 record under the UFC banner. Yusuff is coming off a medical suspension for a possible left knee fracture that he may have sustained in his win over Gabriel Benitez via TKO (punches) at UFC 241 in August. Fili carries advantages in both height and reach.
Big KO win in hometown
FeatherweightUFC
July 13, 2019
Fili defeated Sheymon Moraes via KO (punches) at 3:07 in Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Determined to go out and make a statement in front of family and friends in his hometown of Sacramento, Fili smashed an unsuspecting Moraes. He started quickly and used his length advantage to land all sorts of different strikes against the Brazilian. This bout could, and would, have ended a good minute earlier had it not been for the toughness of Moraes. Fili simply would not be beat on this night, and that determination proved enough to warrant a $50,000 post-fight bonus. The 29-year-old Team Alpha Male product has won back-to-back fights and three of his last four. Fili is in the midst of his best run with the company.
Slated to fight in Sacramento

Fili will fight Sheymon Moraes in a featherweight matchup at UFC Sacramento, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fili boasts a 19-6 overall professional record although he's just 7-5 since joining the UFC in 2014. Moraes similarly has been less effective since joining the UFC, boasting an 11-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark under the UFC banner. Though it's a short sample size for Moraes, Fili has statistical advantages in striking volume, takedown average and takedown defense. He'll also enter this bout with height and reach advantages.
Shows the effectiveness of a good jab
FeatherweightUFC
February 17, 2019
Fili defeated Myles Jury via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 1 on Sunday in Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Fili had a lot of success in this fight staying on the outside and working off his jab. He rarely went to anything other than the jab or a leg kick. However, it mostly kept him out of the range of Jury's counters. Towards the end of the second round, Jury unleashed a spinning backfist that dropped Fili. He then moved to mount on the ground. Fili did a great job of escape to guard and riding out the round on the bottom. In the third round, he came out on first and got an early lead with his jab. That was enough to take the decision. Fili got back on the winning track here. He has now won three of his last four fights.
