Santos needs a new opponent for May 8 after Roxanne Modafferi suffered a meniscus tear, Eric Kowal of MyMMANews.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos has started her UFC career at a solid 3-1-0 pace, but she'll now need a new opponent in order to fight May 8. It's possible that the UFC could reschedule the flyweight bout in question, but that would have to wait until Modafferi has fully recovered from her meniscus surgery, which could take some time.

After a decision victory over Gilian Robertson in December, Santos was hit with a medical suspension for a potential elbow injury. She apparently has cleared all necessary medical hurdles and will return to the mat in early May. Santos is off to a solid start in her UFC career, sporting a 3-1-0 record in the promotion. She cedes both an inch of height and reach to her opponent, who has seen ups and downs early in her UFC run.

Grinds out easy decision win

Santos defeated Gillian Robertson via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It wasn't a particularly exciting fight to watch, but the dominance of Santos was most certainly impressive. Although she was credited with just a single successful takedown on what was her only attempt, Santos racked up a whopping 12:47 worth of control time. It's a mind-boggling number for a fight which lasted 15 minutes. Santos' domination led to Robertson landing all of nine significant strikes throughout the course of the bout. Santos is a striker by trade, so it was nice to see her show off some other skills. The Brazilian has now won back-to-back fights since dropping a split decision to Mara Romero Borella in her company debut back in February 2019.
