Luis Pena
Violent Bob Ross
Ticketed for UFC Nashville

February 11, 2019
Pena is scheduled to face Steven Peterson at UFC Nashville on Mar. 23, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old will attempt to bounce back after his first loss in the UFC promotion. He faces a tall task with Peterson as his opponent, however. The two fighters share the same 1-1 record in UFC fights, but Peterson has 18 more fights to his name in his career, along with 12 more wins than Pena across all promotions. Pena does have a distinct six-inch height advantage, though, as well as a longer reach by five inches and a longer leg reach by three inches.

Suffers first career loss Saturday in Denver
LightweightUFC
November 10, 2018
Pena lost to Michael Trizano via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
That should put a halt to the Pena hype train. "Violent Bob Ross" struggled massively in this once. Pena struggled to land with any consistency on the feet and he had a rough final round. Now training full time with AKA in San Jose, Pena's long-term potential is obvious, but he's still learning the finer points of MMA. The 25-year-old will be back.
Pulls off mounted guillotine choke at the TUF 27 Finale

July 6, 2018
Pena defeated Richie Smullen via submission (guillotine choke) at 3:32 of Round 1 at the TUF 27 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was an impressive performance from Pena. He showed that he was the better fighter in terms of striking and grappling. He dropped his opponent about halfway through the ground. In the following scramble, he grabbed the neck and did not let go. The two exchanged a few positions, but Pena took the opportunity to gain full mount and stretch for the choke.
Gets another shot at TUF 27 Finale
LightweightUFC
June 14, 2018
Pena will take on Richie Smullen in a lightweight matchup at the TUF 27 Finale on July 6 in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The main gimmick of the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter is that each competitor is undefeated in their fighting career. Though Pena is no exception to this, he was ultimately forced to leave the show due to a foot injury following his win over Jose Martinez Jr. in the quarterfinals. With plenty of time between the show's taping and the scheduled event in Las Vegas, the UFC decided to give "Violent Bob Ross" another chance. Standing at 6-3, Pena will have a height advantage over just about every fighter in the 155-pound division, provided he continues to make the weight. With a limited sample size to date, however, it remains to be seen if the 24-year-old Tennessee native can carry his physical advantages to sustained success in the world's best fighting promotion.
