Millender was released by the UFC on Tuesday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Millender is perhaps the most surprising name of a group of 13 fighters (including Danilo Belluardo, Manny Bermudez, Henry Briones, Thomas Gifford, Nohelin Hernandez, Yoshinori Horie, Derrick Krantz, Azamat Murzakanoz, Andre Soukhamthath, Maia Stevenson, Kyle Stewart and Dequan Townsend) to be dismissed by the promotion Tuesday. Millender won his first three fights after joining the UFC but proceeded to drop the next two.

No-shows UFC 236 loss to Belal Muhammad
WelterweightPFL
April 13, 2019
Millender lost to Belal Muhammad via unanimous decision (27-29, 27-29, 26-30) at UFC 236 on Saturday in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Seemingly on the verge of contention at 170 pounds, Millender has now lost twice in the last four weeks to completely fall of the map. In desperate need of a rebound performance on the heels of his submission loss to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in mid March, Millender no-showed Saturday's fight against Muhammad. Millender's takedown defense along the fence is decent, but he's terrible in open space. More of an athlete than a mixed martial artist, Millender is physically equipped for this sport but still has a learning curve ahead of him.

Millender will face Belal Muhammad at UFC Atlanta on April 13, freelance reporter Farah Hannoun reports.
ANALYSIS
Millender is having a quick turnaround after losing to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 146 just last week. He came into that fight having won nine straight, so he's certainly looking to get the taste of defeat out of his mouth as quick as possible.
Struggles on mat lead to loss

March 9, 2019
Millender lost to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:35 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Wichita, Kansas.
ANALYSIS
What a disaster. Booked in a co-main event slot for the first time in his young career and with a chance to fly up the welterweight rankings, Millender found himself on his back less than 30 seconds into the fight and never recovered. Curtis is an exceptional athlete with legitimate power, but his ground game is extremely suspect and Zaleski dos Santos easily took advantage of the opening. Three of Millender's four career setbacks have come via submission.

Millender will take on Elizeu Zaleski in a welterweight bout at UFC Wichita on March 9, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Millender was hit with a 180-day medical suspension last week for a fractured elbow, but it looked like a physician has cleared him to return to fighting in March. Millender suffered the injury during his victory over Siyar Bahadurzada and will be riding a three-fight winning streak into his matchup with Zaleski.

ANALYSIS
Millender suffered the injury while defeated Siyar Bahadurzada by decision at UFC 232 in late December. He'll be held out of action until late June unless cleared by a physician.
