Trevin was slammed to the mat by Bonfim not long after the opening bell rang and while trying to get back to his feet, left his neck exposed. He briefly tried to eradicate himself from the situation, but quickly knew the gig was up. Set to turn 32 years of age next week, Giles is 2-3 in his past five fights, although all three of those setbacks came against a rising star in Bonfim, one of the best young prospects in the world in Michael Morales and a future 185-pound title challenger in Dricus Du Plessis.

That's not to say he didn't deserve to win, but you certainly wouldn't have had much, if any, complaining had the decision gone the other way. Trevin appeared to be the more effective striker of the two, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise. He did allow Parsons to connect on three takedowns, but also did a job job of battling on the mat, a necessity against an opponent such as Parsons that is entirely reliant on his submission game for success.
