Nikkanen signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Jets on Saturday, per CapFriendly.

ANALYSIS
Nikkanen was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 draft. He spent the 2021-22 season with Pelicans of the Finnish Liiga, logging 12 points in 60 contests, a down year by his standards after he had 20 points in 47 contests with Jukurit last season. The Finnish forward's contract begins in 2022-23, but he'll likely need time with AHL Manitoba before being an option at the NHL level.
