2019 Fantasy Outlook
Ehn is not a viable fantasy option due to his heavy shutdown role. As a rookie in 2018-19, Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill started the Swede in the defensive zone a whopping 65.1 percent of the time. Ehn managed three goals and six assists between 10:37 of average ice time and 60 top-level games as a sign that he may be able to handle more attacking-zone responsibility, though it's clear nobody will be mistaking him for speedy top-liner Dylan Larkin or the venerable Frans Nielsen among the centers in Motown. Ehn is projected to start the 2019-20 season with the Red Wings, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ehn's inclusion on the Opening Night roster this past season proved that offense isn't everything for NHL teams. The fourth-line, penalty-killing specialist only mustered three goals and six assists through 60 NHL contests, but he's capable of playing on the wing or at center, and his shutdown abilities as a forward gives him a leg up on the internal competition.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
It's about time for Ehn -- who was selected by the Red Wings in the fourth round of the 2014 draft -- to make the next big step in his development. The two-way maven spent the past four seasons polishing his game in his native Sweden, but with one of three years already exhausted from his entry-level NHL contract, Ehn could make a full transition to AHL Grand Rapids and possibly serve as an emergency call-up option for the Wings in 2018-19. Now 22 years old, the pivot is fresh off his fifth season with Frolunda HC, having deposited seven goals and 10 assists in 50 regular-season contests. On the downside, Ehn was held off the scoresheet entirely through six playoff games that same year. He should be viewed as a raw but promising prospect in Detroit's system.
