25-Year-Old CenterC
Anaheim Ducks
2018 Fantasy Outlook
A college standout at Minnesota, Kloos stayed in state when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Wild but wound up spending most of his first pro campaign with AHL Iowa, where he racked up an impressive 50 points in 76 games. Undersized at 5-foot-9, the 24-year-old has a solid all-around game and will probably make his mark in the NHL as a bottom-six player who can still contribute a little on offense. He's likely ticketed for another season in the AHL, but with Eric Staal in the final year of his contract and Mikko Koivu not getting any younger, there could be an opportunity for Kloos to win a regular role at center as soon as 2019-20. Kloos was sent down to AHL San Diego on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Kloos was acquired by the Ducks on Jan. 16. The 25-year-old dressed for one game, logging only 7:04 of ice time against the Devils on Jan. 19, but failed to record a point. While Kloos has yet to suit up for San Diego, the winger, as a member of the Iowa Wild, posted 30 points in 34 minor-league games before being traded.
