SLATE PREVIEW

It's all makeup games from here on out as 15 teams -- mostly from the West and North Divisions --  close out their seasons. The Bruins and Capitals (7 p.m. EDT) will have their season finale in a meaningless game but provide a preview of their first-round matchup set to begin on May 15. The Canucks will play the Jets (8 p.m.) in the second half of a back-to-back.

GOALIES

Jeremy Swayman, BOS at WSH ($7,800): Swayman's been steadier than the Caps' expected starter, Vitek Vanecek, for most of the season, and also the better value play. Even though the game will have no effect on the standings, this is also Swayman's chance to solidify himself as the backup for the Bruins' playoff run. That gives him more incentive to play well.

Braden Holtby, VAN at WPG ($6,800): The Canucks are the better value play and Laurent Brossoit may be forced to make back-to-back starts with Connor Hellebuyck perhaps unavailable, and Eric Comrie isn't a great option, either. Holtby's numbers in his past two starts and against the Jets this season haven't been very good, but all he has to do is be better than the other guy at the end of the ice.

VALUE PLAYS

Matthew Highmore, VAN at WPG ($3,500): Highmore played 20:15 skating on the top line with Bo Horvat and finished second among Canucks forward in ice time, finishing with an assist and three shots on goal. The offensive upside isn't very high, but he's expected to stick on the top line.

Daniel Sprong, WSH vs. BOS ($4,300): If Alex Ovechkin doesn't play, look for Sprong to get promoted again. He played very well in Ovechkin's absence, scoring six goals in seven games.

LINE STACKS

Bruins vs. Capitals

David Krejci (C - $5,800), Taylor Hall (W - $6,600), Craig Smith (W - $4,700)

Smith has been pretty quiet but Hall and Krejci combined for five points in their last game. With nothing really on the line, look for Bruce Cassidy to spread out the ice time a little, which means the second line will likely get as many opportunities as their top line.

Canucks at Jets

J.T. Miller (C - $6,300), Brock Boeser (W - $7,300), Nils Hoglander (W - $4,100)

Hoglander scored two goals and Miller added an assist in Monday's victory. With the Jets possibly starting Brossoit again or starting their third-string in Comrie, look for this line to take advantage. Hoglander and Boeser are both better wingers than Horvat's, who gets Highmore and Tanner Pearson.

DEFENSEMEN

Justin Schultz, WSH vs. BOS ($4,400): Schultz is a good value player as a PP QB, especially if John Carlson does not play.

Josh Morrissey, WPG vs. VAN ($4,200): He does everything for the Jets, and as they try to get into a groove and create some momentum going into the playoffs, look for Morrissey to continue to play a big role. The Jets can't afford to rest him if they want to fire on all cylinders.

Jack Rathbone, VAN at WPG ($3,600): Quinn Hughes ($5,400) obviously has more upside but Rathbone has proven he has quite a bit of offensive upside. He's scored two points in four games and played on the top power play with Hughes.
