SLATE PREVIEW

It's a busy night for the North Division with six teams in action..

Other key matchups include Flyers at Bruins (7 p.m.) in a battle for the last playoff spot in the East; the Blues hosting the Golden Knights (8 p.m.) and the Coyotes visiting the Kings (10 p.m.) as the West playoff race heats up.

GOALIES

Jack Campbell, TOR at CGY ($8,100): Campbell will be looking for ninth straight win and the Flames' slide continues after losing Sunday night. Campbell's needed some luck to keep his streak going, but the Leafs defense has also been quite good since his return and doing a good job of lower their high-danger shot attempts allowed, according to Natural Stat Trick.

Jaroslav Halak, BOS vs. PHI ($7,900): It was encouraging the Bruins were able to score goals, not that it should be particularly difficult against the Flyers. The Bruins are a perfect 5-0 against them this season, and in Halak's only start against them this season faced just 17 shots.

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. OTT ($7,500): The Sens love playing spoiler but the Jets are one team they haven't really upset. Their only win against them was a 2-1 grind, and in the four previous games were outscored 19-8. Hellebuyck should be a very popular play.

Cal Petersen, LA vs. ARI ($7,300): The Coyotes are on a bit of a roll with five wins in their past seven games, but they also have not been particularly good in back-to-backs this season. The Kings will be a much tougher challenge than the Ducks and they should have the edge, but the best part of this matchup is that these two teams tend have to low-scoring games, averaging 4.8 total goals in their past six meetings.

VALUE PLAYS

Craig Smith, BOS vs. PHI ($4,000): He's worthwhile only if he sticks on the top line with David Pastrnak moving to David Krejci's line in an effort to balance out the offense. Smith finished with two helpers and three shots in his last game.

Nick Schmaltz, ARI at LA ($3,900): Schmaltz extended his point streak to five games with a helper Sunday night against Anaheim, and he remains a good value play. Pay no attention to the fact that he's on the "fourth" line; Conor Garland is on his wing and Schmaltz is a fixture on the top power play and plays plenty of minutes.

Andreas Athanasiou, LA vs. ARI ($3,500): I like the matchup for the Kings and Athanasiou has been consistently putting shots on net. He remains a streaky scorer, but it's decent value for an offensive winger who also gets time on the power play.

Cody Glass, VGK at STL ($3,200): This is Glass' last chance to make an impact before Chandler Stephenson returns from suspension. Despite scoring just 10 points this season, Glass has shown that he can be a regular NHL player, and he's being given lots of opportunity on the power play and on the first line where he's flanked by Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone.

LINE STACKS

Jets vs. Senators

Mark Scheifele (C - $7,000), Kyle Connor (W - $6,400), Nikolaj Ehlers (W - $6,600)

This is probably the best offensive line the Jets have ever put together. Scheifele and Connor combined for 19 shots in two games against the Leafs – Ehlers still needs to shoot more – but came away without a single goal. If they can continue to shoot pucks at this rate, they'll get one past the Sens' goalies sooner than later.

Avalanche at Wild

Nathan MacKinnon (C - $9,100), Mikko Rantanen (W - $8,400), Gabriel Landeskog (W - $7,100)

Right now, I don't think there's a better line out there.  The Wild have been dominant at home with a 13-3-0 record but note one of those losses came at the hands of the Avalanche in a 5-1 rout.

DEFENSEMEN

Shea Theodore, VGK at STL ($6,300): The Knights have scored 19 goals against the Blues this season, including 5-1 wins in their past two meetings. Theodore is a huge part of the Knights offense and on a night without a lot of premier options, Theodore should be a good pick.

Cale Makar, COL at MIN ($5,600): He's the only other elite option on defense. With a stacked offense that has defeated the Wild by a margin of 11-1 in their past two games, Makar should be a very popular pick. He's one of the few defensemen who is averaging close to a point per game.

Ivan Provorov, PHI at BOS ($5,100): This game could sprawl in all sorts of directions with two teams that have been inconsistent all season – Flyers more so than the Bruins – but one thing that's stay constant for the Flyers is Provorov's role. He's going to play lots of minutes and hopefully it'll be a high-scoring affair like the Bruins' last game against the Penguins.
