Yahoo DFS Hockey: Saturday Playoff Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

Saturday's two-game NHL slate begins at 3 p.m. EDT and features Game 2s of the Stars-Blues and Blue Jackets-Bruins series. After the home teams each took home 3-2 Game 1 victories, read on to see which players are primed to shine and which ones are best avoided in this pair of rematches.

GOALIE

Jordan Binnington, STL vs. DAL ($34): Binnington has carried over his stellar regular-season play to the playoffs, limiting the opposition to two goals in each of his last four games while winning the past three. The standout rookie should continue to find success against a Stars team that averaged 2.24 goals per game on the road during the regular season -- third-fewest in the entire NHL.

GOALIE TO AVOID

Ben Bishop, DAL at STL ($37): Bishop was the only one of these starting goalies to give up three goals in regulation time in Game 1. That was his third time allowing three goals in the past five games, yet Bishop remains at least $3 more expensive than every alternative.

CENTER

Charlie Coyle, BOS vs. CLS ($16): Coyle has been a strong source of secondary scoring for Boston all postseason, and he took his contributions to a new level in Game 1 with the game-tying goal in the third period and the overtime winner. Despite his heroics Thursday, Coyle remains affordable at just $16.

CENTER TO AVOID

David Krejci, BOS vs. CLS ($19): Krejci is a game-time decision with an undisclosed injury, but he should be avoided even if he plays. He's yet to post a multi-point game this postseason and has just four shots on goal in the last five games.

WINGS

Artemi Panarin, CLS at BOS ($23): Panarin is yet to be held off the scoresheet this postseason, and he has an eight-game point streak going overall. Available at a discount compared to the top tier on the wing, Panarin should provide strong value at $23 as he tries to help the Blue Jackets rebound from their first loss of the playoffs.

Mats Zuccarello, DAL at STL ($18): By trading for Zuccarello at the deadline, the Stars were hoping to finally get some reliable secondary scoring to complement the top line of Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Alexander Radulov. Zuccarello has given them that and then some with four goals and three assists over his first nine games in a Dallas uniform. If you don't have the funds for Dallas' Big 3 up front, the diminutive Norwegian makes for a strong alternative.

WINGS TO AVOID

Cam Atkinson, CLS at BOS ($21): It's worth it to pay up the extra $2 for Panarin over Atkinson. Atkinson has just five points in his last eight games to Panarin's 10 over that stretch.

Jaden Schwartz, STL vs. DAL ($18): Schwartz scored four times between Games 5 and 6 against Winnipeg, but he has just one other point -- an assist -- in his last 10 games. He's also skated no more than 16:38 in any game over the past five.

DEFENSEMEN

Alex Pietrangelo, STL vs. DAL ($20): Pietrangelo has been a two-way force this postseason, dishing out seven assists through seven games while adding 20 shots and 15 blocks. He's topped 23 minutes of ice time in every game, so Pietrangelo should continue to bring well-rounded production.

Charlie McAvoy, BOS vs. CLS ($17): With four points and a plus-5 rating in the last five games, McAvoy has been a key contributor to Boston's 4-1 record over that stretch. The affordable blueliner is a nice pick for owners reluctant to pay up for the top-tier options on defense.

DEFENSEMEN TO AVOID

Vince Dunn, STL vs. DAL ($18): Dunn's shaky play in his own zone has been exploited by the opposition in the playoffs, saddling him with a minus-4 rating. His poor defense has led to a reduction in ice time, as Dunn has skated under 14 minutes in each of the past three games.

Esa Lindell, DAL at STL ($18): Lindell's two assists in Game 4 against Nashville are his only points in the last nine games. He simply lacks the offensive upside of the other defensemen in this price range.
