GOALIE
Mikko Koskinen, EDM vs. DAL ($8,000): Koskinen allowed four goals in his last start against the Kings, but three of them came after the Oilers jumped out to a 5-1 lead and on a couple of them he had zero chance. Anton Khudobin will make his second straight appearance in a back-to-back after Ben Bishop was injured last night against the Flames. He'll have to face a team that scored two hat tricks in their last game and moved one game above .500 at home with the win. Koskinen is 1-1 with a .942 save percentage and a 28-save shutout performance against the Stars this season.
CENTER
Dylan Larkin, DET at BUF ($5,900): This is a great price for a bona fide No. 1 center who logs a ton of minutes. His 64 points this season is a career high and 15 more than second-place Andreas Athanasiou. The Sabres defense is in rough shape, coming off a bad 4-0 loss to the Sens, and Rasmus Ristolainen's availability will be a game-time decision. Larkin's a high-volume shooter, too, so his fantasy floor is quite high.
Vincent Trocheck, FLA at OTT ($5,200): The Sens have recorded all four of their shutouts this season at home, and three of them have come over the past two months, but the Panthers offense boasts elite talent and ranks eighth in goals scored. In three previous meetings this season the Panthers have scored 14 goals, all without Trocheck in the lineup. Now he has a chance to join in on the fun, and with four points in his past five games it looks like he's finding his groove, though he's shooting still a career-low 5.7 percent.
WING
Blake Wheeler, WPG vs. NYI ($6,200): The Jets captain hasn't registered a point in four games and faces a stingy Islanders team, but at this price Wheeler offers up a lot of upside. He remains an elite winger on a high-powered offense, with the only drawback being the Jets' inconsistency. Wheeler's performances have generally been better on home ice but he did manage to collect two assists against the Isles earlier this season.
Jamie Benn, DAL at EDM ($5,800): Benn is back with Tyler Seguin again, not that it has made much of a difference lately, but we know what they're capable of when they play together. The Oilers are a team Benn has dominated in the past with 19 goals in 30 career games, including one earlier this season, and the Oilers showed their defense and goaltending still needs plenty of work after allowing four goals to the Kings. Benn's upside at this price is hard to pass up.
Andrei Svechnikov, CAR vs. WAS ($4,400): He's a big part of the 'Canes' new core, and he's been really coming on lately with three goals and four points in his past six games, including his 20th goal of the season Sunday against the Habs, becoming just the third rookie to reach that milestone this season. His minutes will be limited due to his inexperience, but Svechnikov provides tons of upside and generated three shots on goal last game as they wrap up their home-and-home series.
DEFENSE
Brent Burns, SJ vs. CHI ($6,600): Only four of the league's top-10 scoring defensemen are playing tonight, yet there doesn't seem to be a premium at all for Burns, the top scorer with 77 points. In has last game (against the Red Wings) he played almost 30 minutes and registered 10 (!) shots on goal, and even though it's not a must-win game, expect Burns to still log a lot of minutes especially with Erik Karlsson still on the shelf.
Quinn Hughes, VAN vs. LA ($2,500): Travis Green said yesterday Hughes is a "possibility" for tonight, causing the entire city to nearly faint in anticipation of his NHL debut. The smooth-skating defenseman is known for his offense and ability to jump up in the play, and hopefully he can give the Canucks forwards a big jolt from the back end. He should get power-play time, so there's tons of upside with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser also on the ice.
