GOALIE
Jordan Binnington, STL vs. ARI ($7,800): A little cause for concern: Binnington has allowed seven goals in his past two starts, and Vladimir Tarasenko will not play. After ceding the net to Jake Allen, it's Binnington's turn to show that he can remain the team's No. 1. The Coyotes offense isn't particularly strong, scoring two goals or less in three of its past four games. Carey Price ($8,000) and Connor Hellebuyck ($7,900) are also good picks in this price range, but Binnington is the best value option.
CENTER
Tyler Seguin, DAL at BUF ($7,300): The Stars' playoff hopes are diminishing, but to his credit, Seguin continues to be the Stars' best offensive weapon every night. He's been playing at a point-per-game pace in 2019 with 28 points in 28 games, and against the Sabres he has a chance to run the table with no shutdown center to keep him in check. Seguin has feasted on Buffalo with 23 points in 26 career games against them.
Casey Mittelstadt, BUF vs. DAL ($2,700): No Jack Eichel due to suspension, so the former eighth overall pick finds himself as the new No. 1 center despite averaging less than 14 minutes a game and scoring 21 points in 64 games this season. This is a good test for Mittelstadt, who has just one goal in five games this month, to show off his playmaking ability and maybe show flashes of what he can be. There's no pressure to win and as the team's top center he will get all the offensive-zone opportunities. This is a good value pick.
WING
Johnny Gaudreau, CGY vs. NJ ($6,700): We're rolling the dice here because, quite frankly, Gaudreau hasn't been very good lately. He has just 11 points in 18 games since the All-Star Game, compared to 73 points in 51 games before, and has just one goal in his past 18 games. However, he's had plenty of success against the Devils in the past and they shouldn't be tough to beat. Bill Peters gets last change so he'll get Gaudreau out there against easier matchups when he can.
Jared McCann, PIT vs. WAS ($4,600): If McCann sticks with Sidney Crosby, watch out. He has 11 points in 19 games since coming over from Florida, and with his speed and Crosby's ability to find open players, there's plenty of scoring chances to be created. McCann scored twice against the Bruins, and in his past six games has skated more than 16 minutes five times. Crosby has always found great chemistry with those you least expect, and McCann definitely falls in that category.
William Nylander, BUF vs. DAL ($2,500): We really don't love the Sabres that much, but like Mittelstadt, Nylander's upside is difficult to ignore. At this price we're willing to roll the dice, especially since the gifted playmaker has two shooters to play with in Evan Rodrigues and Conor Sheary. Nylander is slotted on the second line and on the second power-play unit, giving him lots of chances to create offense. Nylander's improvement has been incremental, but he did set a new career high with 31 points in the AL this season.
DEFENSE
Mark Giordano, CGY vs. NJ ($6,300): We can all agree to give him the Norris, yes? Sure, Brent Burns ($6,700) is still part of the conversation, but Giordano does more in his own end of the ice, and even when he doesn't score points remains a shot-blocking machine. Burns has more upside but he's playing the Jets, so Giordano is the safer and better pick tonight.
Shea Weber, MON vs. DET ($5,900): He's scored four points in his past three games, and despite his age and injury history remains an elite blueliner. He remains one of the league's most feared shooters, and over his past five games has registered 23 shots on goal. Against the Dead Things he's a better value pick than John Klingberg ($6,000) or Seth Jones ($5,600).
