FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Picks

FanDuel NHL: Friday Value Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Yesterday was Valentine's Day, but there's no excuse for not watching hockey Friday. There are four NHL games on the slate. Before you go out and buy discounted heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Linus Ullmark, BUF vs. NYR ($8,600): Ullmark has had an inconsistent season, but, on the whole, he has a 2.89 GAA and .913 save percentage. Plus, he has only allowed one goal in each of his last two starts. The Rangers, meanwhile, are bottom five in goals per game with 2.73.

CENTER

Eric Staal, MIN vs. NJD ($5,700): Staal has slumped in February, but even with that he has 10 points over his last 13 games. Plus, he's been seeing a ton of power-play time, which increases the chances of him breaking out of his funk. Meanwhile, the Devils don't merely have a 3.93 road GAA. They're also on the road for the second night of a back-to-back.

Evan Rodrigues, BUF vs. NYR ($3,700): Rodrigues may only have eight goals on the season, but six of them have come in his last 11 games. He's also currently skating as Buffalo's second-line center, an increased role for the 25-year-old. Now he gets to face a Rangers team that has a 4.04 road GAA, second highest in the NHL.

WING

Teuvo Teravainen, CAR vs. EDM ($6,600): With two points in his last game, Teravainen went over 50 points on the season. Beyond that, he has 13 points in his last 10 contests. The Finn also has 16 points with the extra man in 57 games, and the Oilers have the 30th-ranked penalty kill.

Conor Sheary, BUF vs. NYR ($4,400): Sheary has started 72.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second highest on the Sabres. He also has 10 points in 16 games since the new year, and his 9.5 shooting percentage this season is the worst of his career by a fair margin. Sheary should have plenty of opportunities Friday, as the Rangers have a 4.04 road GAA and give up 35.1 shots on net per game away from home as well.

Danton Heinen, BOS at ANA ($4,100): With David Pastrnak out, Heinen finds himself skating on Boston's top line with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron. That's a huge boost to his fantasy value. As for the Ducks, they've been struggling mightily to prevent goals since John Gibson proved himself fallible. They have a 3.16 GAA and have allowed 34.3 shots on net per contest.

DEFENSE

Jared Spurgeon, MIN vs. NJD ($): Spurgeon has 11 goals on the season, tying his personal best, even though it's only been 57 games. He's also added 34 assists for good measure. In addition to the Devils being on the road for the second day of a back-to-back, Keith Kinkaid will likely be in net. Since the new year, he has a 4.00 GAA and .877 save percentage in 10 appearances.

Dougie Hamilton, CAR vs. EDM ($4,900): Hamilton has put 179 shots on net in 57 games, but his offense is finally starting to match up with his offensive effort. In his last nine outings he has four goals and three assists. The Oilers have a 3.36 road GAA, and that's despite the fact Mikko Koskinen started the season hot before snapping back to reality.
