FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Wednesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Wednesday is the final day of NHL action before a four-day All-Star break. Let's make the most of it. Here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup, with players plucked from the 12 teams in action.

GOALIE

Carey Price, Mon vs. ARI ($8,600): Price is finally starting to look like the netminder we all remember him being. Over his last 10 games he has 1.71 GAA and .946 save percentage. The Coyotes have a bottom-five offense, and if that isn't enough to entice you, they are also on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

CENTER

Bo Horvat, VAN vs. CAR ($5,700):Elias Pettersson is back, but don't forget about Horvat. The guy has 40 points in 50 games, and he's averaged 3:30 per game with the extra man. The Hurricanes have a 3.22 road GAA, which isn't terrible, but they aren't just on the road here. They are also on the second leg of a back-to-back as well.

Phillip Danault, MON vs. ARI ($5,600):Max Domi has gotten the love at center for the Canadiens, but Danault has been hot in his own right recently. Over his last seven games he's tallied six points, and he's even been getting first-line minutes. Since the Coyotes are also on the second night of a back-to-back, Calvin Pickard is pegged to get the start here. He hasn't had a GAA lower than 2.98 in his last three seasons.

WING

Brendan Gallagher, MON vs. ARI ($6,200): Gallagher has a point in his last four games, and six of his last seven contests. He's also put 177 shots on net in 50 games. Calvin Pickard, who is expected to get his first start since joining the Coyotes, has a 4.01 GAA and .863 save percentage in 11 outings this season.

Sven Baertschi, VAN vs. CAR ($4,600): Baertschi, who has six points in 10 games since returning from injury, is currently skating on Vancouver's top line with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser. If that's not enticing enough, he's averaged 3:15 per game with the extra man. With the Hurricanes on the second night of a back-to-back, and with Curtis McElhinney banged up, Alex Nedeljkovic may be getting only his second NHL start.

Kasperi Kapanen, TOR vs. WAS ($4,400): With their full complement of forwards finally healthy, Kapanen finds himself skating on the Leafs' second line with John Tavares. He's got 15 goals and 15 assists in 48 games, including five points in his last five contests. The Capitals have a 3.46 GAA on the road, and they are yet another team playing on the second leg of a back-to-back Wednesday. Oh, and they gave up seven goals last night.

DEFENSE

Morgan Rielly, TOR vs. WAS ($5,900): Rielly has slowed down recently, but don't get too deterred. He still has 48 points in 48 games, and he's put 126 shots on net as well. This could be the game where he starts to show that old form. The Capitals have struggled defensively in January, and likely starter Pheonix Copley has been a part of that. In six appearances in 2019 he has a 3.84 GAA and .877 save percentage.

Colton Parayko, STL at ANA ($4,100): Parayko hasn't been scoring a ton, but he has eight goals on 110 shots in 48 games. He put 212 shots on goal last year, so he's shown he can put the puck on net. That's something that's always relevant in a matchup with the Ducks. Anaheim has allowed 34.2 shots on goal per game.
